The ABS module is SHO specific. It is not model year specific. Any Gen III SHO in the boneyard would have a compatible module for you.

Does anybody know if the electronic modules can be swapped independently of the hydraulic pump unit?

Someone has said: "The pinouts are all the same for all four years of the SHO",

but in a later post I found the quote:

"Bosch Bar Code numbers on controllers are different."

The module in my '99 has fewer pins on the electronic module itself, the replacement part has a connector full, with none missing.

Are they interchangeable despite this?

Yes they are.. you dont need the same year.. alos stay away from the 1998 box.
