I assume you mean a car battery from the car towing/sundry company, not a AAA-sized battery, as one is just as likely to be dependable as any other brand, and the other will probably not provide enough power to crank the starter.
Well, if you have enough of 'em.......![]()

Assuming a voltage of 1.5vDC and a discharge capacity of about 750mAh, it'd take 8 AAAs in series to provide 12vDC (I don't know where you're getting all this AC voltage from a DC battery...), and 400 packs of 8 AAAs to provide enough current capacity to turn a starter for more than a second. This means 3,200 AAA batteries. At 11.5 grams a piece, that's about 81 pounds of AAAs, which might not seem like a whole lot, but would require about the equivalent of 400 gallons of space. Since your fuel tank holds 18.6 gallons, I think the size of the cabin would be just about enough to hold them all, assuming all the seats are removed, and there is some incredible wiring going on.
You'd need at least 80 AAA batteries to get about 120 V AC, at which point you might have been able to invert it to DC somehow, but it would just run your accessories, wouldn't have the cranking power to start the car.I kid.
Regarding your real battery, if you or someone you know has one of those new digital intelligent chargers, they can usually detect a sulphulated battery and apply a charging process to bring it back. I have brought back batteries found in parking lots and the side of the road with mine, after leaving it on my digi-charger over night, they crank and hold a charge fine.
