I am currently running eibach springs, ride is ok, but this is not my daily driver so i can sacrifice a little on the ride,... anyways, I want the front end of the car a little lower to fill up the wheel wells just a bit more but cant find any decent way.

Someone told me to either use spring compressors or heat the springs...I will NOT heat the springs, I dont wanna damage them. I am unfamiliar with the compressors, anyone used these and know if there is any negatives in using them ? I only wanna go approx 1/2" more max in the front and really want a safe but more important, economical way of doing it....

thanks for any input.

What year is your car and what upper strut mounts are you using? SHONut has a great write up on how the different strut mounts affect spring travel and ride height. If you're using '94 - 95 mounts you can switch to the older mount and the car will sit lower.

Also, you can trim the alignment tab on the front strut and slide the strut farther down in the knuckle. About 1/2 inch or so.

Finally, if you have a '93 or later you may have the little 1/8" spacers between the mount and the body. You can gain a little by removing those, but you run the risk of the strut groaning problem that the spacers cure.

My car is a 94 and as far as I know, I am using the stock mounts. I would have to talk to my tech to make sure though. I will see if I can find the Shonut write up.

Anyone else used the spring compressors ??
