Hello,

The time has come to replace the a/c in my 91. I have had 173k with no real problems, but now the comressor just groans louder and louder and it has begun to lug the motor down. The air is now cool, not cold and it has the feeling of moisture in it. I would like to replace everything but the condensor and evaporator. I will clean them out but do not want to replace them. I did search but never really found a full list of parts so I wanted to run it by everyone and see if I am missing anything. I already have a new Ford compressor waiting. The parts I need to get are as follows.

Accumulator and hose (all one piece) $150.00
Liquid line with orifice tube $35.00
Discharge line $61.99
8 oz oil
30 oz r134a
O rings

Everything but the "o" rings seems easy to find. Has anyone had any luck finding all the "o" rings as a package or did you have to buy them seperate. What things should I look out for? It is a southern car so corrosion should not be big problem. Thanks for the help.

See post # 8. This was four years ago. Current availability will need to be checked.

The red o-rings between the compressor and the manifold were bought from the local dealer.

Add a flush to the condensor and evaporator. Flush kits are available at O'Reilly's.

Pull you requiste vacuum and make certain it doesn't leak.

Charge the R134a to about 80% of the original R12 requirement. Add in 1-2 oz increments to get pressures correct for ambient conditions.

Where did you find the discharge line? Do you have a part number? Is that the line that connects to the compressor or at least part of it?

Thanks

I have not ordered it because I was not sure I needed it yet, but I found it at Oreilly under the Murray brand. Part number 55920. This was the one line I was considering flushing and reusing.
