These accumulator assemblies don't come with a cycling switch. I'm ignorant of this stuff so I must ask before getting into the middle of this project.

There is a fitting on the canister seen in this pick. Is this where a cycling switch like the one pictured below is installed? Does it screw on? Please explain. Thanks!

Yep, it's just a little schrader valve on the tank, and the switch just screws right on.

It does just screw right on, but it has an O-ring that seals it. Make sure to install a new one with a little bit of oil to **** it.

Doug,

This o-ring.... does it come with the switch or is it separate? If separate, will it come with an o-ring "kit"?

The accum/hose assy will probably include one as will a new switch. The one with the hose assy will probably be in a little baggie inside the big bag the thing comes in and can easily be missed.

Are you going to get your A/C working by the end of the summer? I did two V6 complete A/C systems (sans evaps) last week while we were talking about this, and I've got two V8 cars to do in the next week or so.

Well, that's the plan. I think I have all the parts I need now. Some are still in the shipping process. See my other thread.

Sounds like you are a pro at this. I've not messed with those couplings yet. I need to get a tool to disconnect them... and I assume another tool to reconnect the new parts. Any suggestions? Is it hard to do?

I hope to do this right the first time and not have any leaks.

The little toolkit for AC/fuel line fittings is less than $10 bucks

You need the kit to remove stuff, but the new hoses just snap together. You CAN use the tool for easier "snaptogether-abilityness" but it's not needed.

Okay, although admittedly fairly mechanically inclined, I'm having trouble visually figuring out those clips I see on the A/C line joints. I guess once I get the tool in there and start working with it, I'll figure it out. It's just new to me.

The o-ring for the cycling switch... does it go at the base of the schrader valve on the accumulator/drier or does it go deep inside the threaded end of the switch and seal at the top of the schrader valve?? Anyone know?
