I did a search and performed some tests on my 95's a/c. It has been sitting for quite awhile and was low on refrigerant. I recharged it and drove it a day or 2, and it's been sitting a couple of weeks. I get in it last night and it's blowing hot air. The compressor will not kick on, even whacking it with a broom handle. I pulled the pressure switch or clutch cycling switch on top of the accumulator and jumped it with a paperclip. The compressor kicked on, still hot air. I check the system psi with a cheapo parts house gauge---empty.

Today I get another recharge kit (obviously I have a leak somewhere), jump the switch, refill, car blew cool air for a bit then went back hot.

I guess 1st thing is to replace the switch on top of the accumulator in front of the alternator. How difficult is that? Tight space there.

2nd if it still blows hot or just cool/not cold; does this mean my compressor is shot? Leery to do a/c work myself but I'm not paying $1200 like my brother did to get a guy to do it while taking a week and him complaining that he can't find parts.

Disregard....I guess I forget I have a Ford shop manual. Replaced the a/c cycling switch for $16 (just unscrews), charged and checked system to full, a/c now works....carry on.
