My a/c stopped working over the weekend, the clutch was cycling, but short.
I checked the refrig. levels, they are ok, then i jumpered the switch, clutch engages continiously!
I thought this meant it was the low pressure switch, but i swapped it, and no change. what am i missing?
when i jumper the switch, should the a/c blow cold? it didnt' and i wonder if this pointed to another problem.
thanks

How did you check the refrigerant level? Remember, that as ambient temperature increases, so does the relative pressure for a fully charged system.

I think you don't know how to check refrigerant levels. You made sure to check them with the clutch ON, right?

ok, i will check them again. i used my gauge set, and i was getting (this is from memory) 22-28 psi on the low pressure side, and 90-110 psi on the high, with the clutch cycling on and off. i swapped another pressure switch because i thought maybe i had a bad one, now i have more problems, the clutch no longer cycles at all, and the cooling fan doesn't kick on when i turn on the max a/c. is it possibly ccrm? i don't have another D code handy to swap, of course.
