My first question is will the A/C cut out when the car gets very hot?

Today was the first day I have driven it in awhile, since I was waiting to replace the alternator (done today.)

The A/C will work perfectly but when the needle starts to get to the hot side the A/C will cut out. My first though was the A/C compressor needs to be regapped since it will start working again if you turn it off for awhile, but then it worked fine for awhile running hot, then it got warmer and then it seemed to kick on again for another few minutes without shutting the system off.

Whats the deal? Could it need to be regapped again (is that even possible) or should this go away once I clean the fins on my radiator out and the car runs cooler?

Sounds like the pressure is getting to high.

CHECT TO SEE IF THE CYCLING switch is good.

If it is, might have a plugged up oriface tube.

I cant spell tonight!!!

Did it again today, during the day only when its really warm and the temp guage gets real high it cuts out as soon as the guage drops back down the A/C works perfect!

I do not know how to check the low side switch other than get the car hot to the point where the AC will cut out. Once it does cut out, jump the low side switch. I good rule of thumb is that if that if you jump the switch and the ac works. You are either low on freon ( not your case ) or the switch is bad.

Good luck
Mike
