After spending 300 bucks to have the A/C replummed on my SHO the shop called with the bad news. My compressor shaft seal is leaking like a siv. Shaft seal kit is FORD discontinued so it looks like I will have to get a new compressor.

My question is has anyone picked up/replaced thier compressor with one from a local parts store. I've looked online at advancedauto, napa and autozone thay all show a 10P15F which I do not believe is a correct replacment. Advanced shows a TRS090 as well but from the photo (I know the photo's are sometimes generic) its manifold is wrong. So if anyone has purchased one please let me know if it will work.

It's a Sanden TRS090, but the one in question is unique to the SHO (and there are several versions of the TRS090).

You could try ordering the one Advance shows to see if it's right in person and just a generic picture. Otherwise, it's a Ford-only item (although RockAuto shows them available).

Dumb A$$ shop didn't hook up the liquid line on either end. Wonder why they couldn't pull a vacuum. I found the evap end loose right off the batt but it was kinda my fault on that end(however I told them it needed connected that I had just inserted it enough to keep the contaminates out). The condenser end, where they thought the compressor shaft seal was leaking, was totally their fault. They also forgot to install the cycling switch.

I had removed the the radiator when I found it. Reconnected it and pulled a vacuum on it and it held. Reassembled the car, charged it up and I now have ice cold air.

Good thing they sold me a shaft seal ($30) so I can return it and tell the owner how incompetent his mechanics are.

One more quick question.

On the GEN III do the radiator/condenor cooling fansNOT kick on when A/C or MAX A/C is selected.

They do on a GEN II so I thought that maybe they should also on the GEN III.

Yes, they should turn on as soon as Auto or A/C is selected, although with the V6 EATC there may be a ckt to the CCRM that needs re-working.
