ok, well I had someone look at the A/c. They said the high side and low sode preasures are the same, and that means that the compressor is not doing anything. The compressor is kicking in and running, but not doing anything. He said that i need new compressor, dryer, and orifice or something like that. I dont rememeber what exactly, but I know it was going to cost 920.00.

So my question is can I buy a used compressor, and install it myself, and then just take it somewhere to have it charged and leak tested once it is on? Or what is the policy on this? I dont want to spend more than I absolutly have to on this...but it is HOT...so something would be nice.....

Any ideas?

I have a used compressor for sale in the classified section if you want it. Worked perfectly fine when removed - the clutch needs to be adjusted but I can do that for you if you want. Even if you just replace the compressor you should also replace the orfice tube and accumulator - even if it is with a used compressor. Both of them combined are around $100, add $10 for oil and your not too expensive. This is given that you do the labor yourself.
