The a/c blower in my car isn't blowing hard enough to cool the car at Max AC and full high.

The motor is turning fine and it is on as high as it goes and yet it blows as if it is set at medium high.

Is there a filter that needs to changed in the Taurus ventalation system?
If there is, I'll bet that is what the problem is?

Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it?

it sounds like the blower motor resistor. the moisture in the heater box rusts up the electronic board and either the blower will only blow high or low but not inbetween it is under the glove box to the left on the heater box 2, 7 or 8mm bolts. if that doesn't work it may be the vacuum module for the recirc door keeping it from closing (no outside air) when put to max a/c. or the arm that moves the door may have popped off . that happened on my windstar.

mines weird too, it randomly turns on and off, and if you put it past HI with the wheel you cant turn it off unless you shut the car off. haha i just gave up on it.

I've run into problems with aftermarket blower motors doing this. The resistor will not do that, if the resistor is bad it will only blow on high. Check the recirc door to see if its closed also.
