hi everybody im new here.
i have a question that nobody seems to be able to answer.
i have a 98 lincoln continental and the tranny just went.
ive heard the SHO uses a more heavy-duty transmission
and being that the continental is based on the taurus platform, i was thinking they might be inter-changeable? i need help ASAP

thanks

I would not try to put a Lincoln tranny in the SHO. I'm sure the gear ratios are not the same.

Either way the car would need tuned so the tranny and PCM are happy.

Unless you have an alternate way to get speed data to the PCM in the Lincoln, the SHO tranny will not work.

The SHO tranny does not have a VSS, and even if you removed the factory plug to try to install one their is no speedo drive gear which means you would have to pay someone to rebuild the tranny to add it.

Just find a good junkyard Lincoln tranny.
