I have a 97 SHO that needs rear struts. I believe I've read on here or another site that the regular Taurus struts (non-electronic) will work on the SHO. Is this true? And if so, does it affect the computer at all, as in throwing codes or such? Thanks.

Yes you can use non sarc struts, won't affect the computer or throw any codes. I personally would not run SARC in front and Non SARC in the rear or at a min unhook the front SARC if you do install just rears.

I hadn't considered that. What would be the issues? The fronts are about a year old SARC's that I bit the bullet and ponied up the $$$ for. I was hoping to avoid having to sell a kidney for the rear SARC's.

No the '99 SHO has specific struts that are not the same as what came on the SLOs.
