I went to the junk yard today to buy some 1995 Taurus spindles/hubs/bearings to complete the 11.6 inch conversion on my 91+ when I came upon a problem. The junk yard guy pulled two different spindles. The difference between the same year spindles was this: the place that the caliper brackets bolted two were different. The bolt holes of one spindle (or steering knucle, whatever) were small and threaded. They were not very far apart. The bolt holes on the other spindle were not threaded and the distance between the holes was much larger than the other spindle. I want to retrofit the Cobra caliper using the Cobra caliper bracket. Any ideas?

Sounds like a screw up. Go back to the yard and make sure they pulled the right stuff. The knuckle needs to be threaded to accept the caliper brackets. Maybe they pulled 1 front and 1 rear. This is why I like the "pull your own parts" places. It may be a pain, but at least you know what your getting.

Hello,

I went to the junk yard yesterday to look for some hubs also. I found a '95 (thats what they told me) with smaller brakes on it. Then I also found a '94-95 sable with the larger brakes on it. I don't know what gives.

How much do they want for hubs over where you live? Here they wanted like $45 for each one(without calipers etc.)

That is incorrect. The 94-95 spindles just have holes. The brackets themselves are threaded
