96 computer

I dont know if this belongs in this forum or in the performance section but ive heard a few rumors a while ago that the 96 SHOs made a bit more HP than the later model years because of the computer..Ive searched forums/threads far and wide and have found nothing on that subject. Was I being lied to or is there some truth?

Zero truth to that. If that were the case then the '96 would be faster and everybody knows that the '97s are fastest.
