This started Saturday night. Had the car parked outside all night Friday and all day Saturday, and it was cooolllldd outside (teen's or below). Started it Saturday night, let it warm up for about 10 minutes.
Put it in reverse, hit the gas pedal, but the pedal felt stuck, it didn't move at all. I pushed it really hard, then it "popped" loose, and it felt normal.
After driving for a bit, I thought it felt kind of sluggish pulling from a stop light. After watching the tach from a dead stop, I realized that I was starting in 2nd gear.
Even when I floor it, moving or from a stop, it won't shift below 2nd. It does shift normally 2nd to OD.
I can pull the shifter into 1st gear, and it will so into first. I was playing around with it last night, driving up and down the road in 1st to feel if there was any grinding, slipping or anything that seemed out of the ordinary. 1st felt fine.

Too add to my confusion, I noticed that when I go into drive from Park, Reverse or neutral from an idle (approx 900rpm) to drive, the engine revs up a bit, to about 1200, then goes into 2nd.
But if I go directly from neutral to 1st or 2nd, it doesn't do that.

I checked the connectors on top of trans and everything was tight. Pulled the wiring harness and checked for moisture, and it was dry. Trans fluid is full, has a new trans filter and fluid change approx 2,000 miles ago.
This just started Saturday night.

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what else it could be. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :thankyou:

Nevermind, I pulled the battery cable (while trying to find the fix to another problem), after 5 min disconnected, I started it, ran it down the road, and it's shifting fine. Computer just must have been screwed up.

Awww... I expected to find a thread about something totally different, based on the subject line. ;)
