I have searched this and come up with some but few results. I beleive my blend door actuator is bad I have hot air no matter what I set the EATC at. There is a 93 at my local junkyard I am probably going to take the entire black blox. What I want to know is are the 93s the same as the 95's. My blower motor is also stuck on even when it says off. I did unplug this. Any input fast will be greatly appreciated as I want to get started pulling it out.
I am sure it will be frustrating but so worth it in the heat we have been having lately

Where is the air coming from if the blower motor is on and you have no air?

The BDA only affects air temperature.

First it started off as me wanting a/c, so I went to walmart and bought the refill kit, went to put it in touched my A/C lines and they were Ice cold. I then went to turn the a/c on and nothing but hot air was coming out. No mateer what the controls were set at it still blows hot air. I also kept hearing a thump behind the dash but dont anymore. I was driving the car yesterday and all of a sudden the blower motor came on and the controls were set to off. It wouldnt turn off no matter what I did so I just unplugged the blower motor.

...like train guy said. It sounds like your compressor and AC are working. Your BDA is bad (Blend door actuator). You don't have to disconnect the AC or the heater core to change it, just pull the dash.

It is possible that your blower controller is also bad.

Their are several posts in the 'How To' section that show you how to pull the dash.

X2 on the BDA, if you want to be 100% sure do the EATC self test as follows:

1. Push the OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaneously and within 2 seconds, push AUTOMATIC.

It will make some "whirring" noises for a bit and when it's done, it will display a 2 digit code. Here are the codes as referenced from SHOtimes.com.

ERROR CODE KEY

Code Condition

1.. Replace control head
2.. Blend door problem
3.. In-car temp sensor open or short
4.. Ambient temp sensor open or short
5.. Sunload sensor short
6.. 888 Test complete - no failures (all segments on)

If you get that stupid 02 code like I did on my 89...well you know what it is, and we all are pretty sure on this.
