Hey guys,
I have a 94 mtx that some bastards f'ed up last night. they used a prybar to pull the door sill out to try to get to the locks i guess on all 4 doors, and eventually just broke the windows to get in, all for a f***ing IPOD. So now i'm in a pickle. i dont have the extra cash laying around to go buy new doors and glass and get it repainted, and I dont want to just leave it and have my doors fill up with water next time it rains/snows. not to mention the fact that it is really freaking cold having an open window when its 35deg and you're going 70mph down the interstate. SO, heres the question. I have access to a 93 mtx that needs a tranny B.A.D.(!!!!). What differences are there, if any, that lie under the hoods of the 93's and the 94's?. the reason I ask is that I'm considering dropping the subframe out of both of them and doing a little switcheroo action, since the motor and trans in the 94 now are OK and I dont want to tear it all apart and possibly break something. Then that would give me a red 93 in pretty good shape that I can drive without all the $$$$$. Thoughts? your feed back is appreciated

If both are MTX's , its plug and play , the ecu/CCRM/o2/harness are the same.

You can also just change the tranny , that too , could fix it.

The front brakes are larger on the 94 than the 93, so if you swap the whole subframe asm, you take the larger brakes with you to the 93.

The 94 will have R134 a/c and the 93 will have R12 (unless its been upgraded). So, I'd take the evaporator valve and related stuff from the 94 along w/ the other stuff you had planned to move.

On the atx, the wiper motor connectors are different between the 93 and 94, so the wire harness from the dash through the firewall is different - don't know if that applies to the mtx also or not, but I'd guess that the wiper motor connectors are the same on all 93's and all 94's.

Or, there's at least one manual tranny available on craiglist here in Denver...

Alternator is a little different from 93-94
The 94 alternator is 120AMP. The 93 is a 90AMP. The plug might be different.

The 1994-95 130A alternator has a three-plug connector at the alternator. If I remember correctly, the plug either changed from '92-to-'93 or '93-to-'94. Someone here has recently posted a '93-to-'94 alternator conversion, which included the brackets and harness changes .
