I got the car for $260 its the 3.2 automatic with 124,000 miles on it. Im not sure if the 60K was done on it I know that it had a new water pump put in 4 years ago but the could be 60,000 miles or it could be 30,000 miles ago either way I have another water pump and I am going to put it in as well as a crank sensor and possibly a main seal and a timing belt while im already their. Okay so here are the issues I am having:

1. When I start the car, its fine but when I push the brake the radio and the heater controls turn off then back on really fast its only for a second. I also noticed that my temp gauge shotts straight up if I leave my lights on. . I know it has a short somewhere obviously but I am not sure where to start looking.

I also might want to add that, Today I changed the starter on it but I didnt disconnect the battery and the power cables touched the subframe and arced but only for a sec as I pulled them away the second they hit. The car with the key on and the power cables to the solenoid without the ground wire attached the CCRM (little black box ontop of the radiator was clicking intermittantly allowing the fuel pump to turn on and off. As soon as I bolted the ground down it all stopped and the car ran just fine.

Problem 2. When the car is warmed up it feels like it has a miss it just doesnt clear up either it chugs like its running on four cylinders. NO matter what i do it does it except at very low RPMS not even pushing the gas.

Problem 3. The tachometer when your giving it gas at about 4,000 Rpms or so its still at like 4,000 but the guage says its at redline when I know the car isn't at that point yet. (I know what she goes to when you give er)

Problem 4. since I have had the car I noticed that it doesnt have as much low end power than my other one did. In other words its good that I cant smoke the tires off but its bad because even with the pedal to the floor it still doesnt go like my other one. Its almost like its choking on air.

I may also want to add that the only "performance part on the car is my custom air filter It sits in the old airbox with no cover just a cone filter put on the mass air flow body so it can still read what it needs to.

Im sorry that this is so long but I will run codes tomorrow and throw them on here.

The electrical sounds like you're alternator is on it's way out and that would be the first thing to fix.

if some one put in an after market radio or other dash modes there might be a bad ground which would give you power problems in your dash (radio and heater controller)

First, pull the codes - if it runs as badly as you indicate, there should be some codes to help narrow it down.

The radio and eatc are very sensitive to low voltage, so they will shut off before the car will if the alternator/battery are bad and the voltage gets low. However, since the car seems to start up fine, that suggests that the voltage is okay and there is a short as you suggest. Unfortunately, there could be a short any number of places, so it will just take some time troubleshooting to find what it is.

I figured out my electrical issues. but I didnt have a chance to reset the computer and check for codes again because I think that that ground strap was the reason for it having low power.
