I just had a curious thought and was wondering if some of you guys could satisfy my curiousity...

I saw a video of a '94 SHO with a 3.4 v8 engine swapped, and I was thinking, if I got a second gen SHO MTX, did the v8 swap, and then the thought was, the 3.4 v8 has the duratec bellpattern, could I source a MTX from a duratec powered car and bolt it up to the 3.4, so I'd have a 3.4 v8 MTX'd SHO, lighter than the third gen?

there are a couple people around who have made a gen3 v8 SHO into a manual trans car...... it wasn't easy or direct bolt on from what I remeber........ so if u can do it to a gen3, I'm sure if u put the motor into a gen2 chassis you could run a 5 speed

I think somebody used a v6 SHO transmission and somebody used a Mazda 6 transmission

Ryan Pasch used the V6 SHO tranny. Kirk Doucette now owns the car.

Scott Krietemeyer used a Mazda 6 tranny.

The gen 3 subframe swaps into the gen 1/2, so I would modify a gen 3 subframe for the manual tranny, then swap the whole shebang into a Gen 1/2. An upshot would be you get the better subframe, better rack, and better lower control arms from the Gen 3 as well.

see my first thought was trying to just do a manual conversion to my third gen, but there's the whole issue of setting up a clutch pedal and shifter assembly to a vehicle that never had one which I don't think would be fun. Then I saw a video of that second gen with the v8, and that was my thought exactly...a lighter body, which is already set up for a manual, and everything good about the third gen would be swapping over into the second gen...a light, fast revving v8 with a stick, in a light, handling and steering improved second gen...that thing would be a what rockets are to rollerskates...freakin' fun...

I'm really curious how he used the v6 SHO tranny as it's the Vulcan bolt pattern...I'd imagine the mazda 6 tranny would bolt up for the most part because it'd be a duratec bolt pattern...does anyone know how to get ahold of either of those guys?
