94 mtx noob question

this is going to sound pretty dumb of me to ask, but lately ive been hearing weird sounds from the transmission.. like i can hear the gears moving when im driving the car and when i shift gears so my question is how do i check the transmission fluid? ive looked and maybe im not looking hard enough but i cant find like a dip stick or anything to check the fluid.

There is no dipstick to check the fluid on the mtx. If you go under the front of the car, on the front side of the transmission there is a plug with with a sqaure in the middle. You put a socket extension in it to take it out, Fluid level should be at the bottom of the plug hole. If you want to drain the fluid there is a bolt on an angle kind of below it you can take out. But you must be very careful when you take it out and make sure you do not touch the shifter when this bolt is out.
