My O/D light on the dash will not turn off. The wires are all intact on the shifter button. Any ideas why it will not let me have my overdrive?

the pcm is wired to automatically start the car with overdrive enabled, to get the od light on requires toggling the od off switch. your symptoms suggest that the od switch wire is shorted so it toggles the switch every time you start the car.

I have replaced the wires from the shifter to the harness that it plugs into and the light is still on.

so it must be shorted between that harness and the pcm, or the pcm is sick.
