93 SHO no start

Ok the car is in salt lake with my dad. 93 ATX SHO well maintained car he said drove to Walmart and the car wouldn't restart. He has power when he turns the key on but no crank. Tried a new battery I guess and still same problem. I am 1200 miles away so trying to fix this from here so he knows what the get. Does this sound like a CCRM issue? I think I had the same problem on a 92 but just cant remember. other thing I thought it may be is the DIS but not sure what symptoms the car would have if it went bad. He did tell me that on the way to the store the ac started cutting in and out. Any help would be appreciated guys

If it doesn't crank, chances are the starter just died. You can have him get a hammer and whack on the starter to get a last start if you are lucky, otherwise replace the starter if there aren't any obvious loose wires on it. A 15 minute job in a parking lot if you have the practice of doing it a few times.
