Trying to change the control arm, when i removed the lower ball joint the boot was pretty torn up so I figure I'll just change it since the car already has 180k miles on it... can't get the damn bolt out though, any suggestions how?

I've generally had to back the bolt out by turning it. It also helps a lot if you loosen the strut rod first, since the bushings are preloaded somewhat so the bushing is trying to hold the bolt in there.

again, there is a steel sleeve inside the bushing that bonds to the bolt. Can you get the bolt to spin? Air tools required! Put the nut back on & jam something to hold the nut & wrench against the bracket & back the bolt out.

Do you have the whole spindle/control arm assembly jacked up any?

Put a jack under the ball joint, and jack up the suspension a few inches (don't lift the car off of the jackstands)

This will help take pressure off of the bolt - then you should be able to back it out a little. You can also try to tap it out if you can get something in there to do it with.

the subframe is OUT of the car... it's laying on the floor there is nothing holding the control arm, I've tried prying with an impact on it, socket wrench so on... it turns just won't come out, I was considering trying a C-clamp

I'm changing the clutch that's part of the reason I'm doing this

other side came right loose

The bolt is probably rusted to the steel sleeve that runs through the rubber piece. Soak it with penetrating oil. Put the nut on half way. Use an air hammer on the nut end, the partially screwed on nut will keep it centered. I like to use a straight bit with a small piece of plastic hose pushed onto the end so the nut threads don't get messed up. Vibrate the heck out of the bolt with it. That should shake it loose.
