I bought a new Y pipe, and installed it after changing my clutch and such, the ****** on the tail pipe side broke... it's the part the bolts go through. It was rusted enough that it just slid off when I started to tighten the bolts up to the new y pipe

Since this is flared I don't know if I can install a new ******, is there anyway to repair this?

Most parts stores carry universal replacements for that type of ******. Just make sure you know the pipe diameter.

They look like this -

I've also seen another design that doesn't bolt together. The two halves are held together by the spring bolts themselves. They're basically just chunks of curved steel rod that are flattened and drilled at each end.

Exhaust ****** repair kit. I think I've seen them at NAPA and CAP, maybe Autozone too. If you can't find them in a store, I'm sure you could order one online. The pic I posted is a Walker kit. Just google "exhaust ****** repair kit" with the pipe diameter and you should find something.

Walker PN:
36132 - 2"
36131 - 2-1/4"
36130 - 2-1/2"

Rockauto has them, but any local parts store that carries the Walker line should stock or be able to get them.

I would take the car to a muffler shop and have a flex pipe installed. Without allowing movement in the exhaust will lead to more problems later.

BTW, the flex pipe comes in two flavors. Two ply and three ply. Go with the three ply although the cost may be higher. I found out the two ply makes a slight whistle sound that drove me nuts until I found it.
