92 3.8 TPS vs. SHO TPS

i have a 1992 mercury sable just collecting dust, and i believe my TPS is bad (EDIT: in the SHO, to clarify), can i just throw the sable TPS in there quick to see if it helps?or arnt they the same? ive never looked at teh sable's TPS, but the thought just crossed my mind.

Why don't you check www.fordpartsnetwork.com and see if they are both the same part number. That will tell you for sure if the TPS is the same from the sable to the SHO.

Unfortunately, FPN does not provide part number on lookups, so that won't help much. They are listed as different applications, but...

They are close enough that it won't matter a great deal. My SHO is running off a TPS from a JY SLO.

Josh at SHONut lists a Windstar TPS recall kit as the replacement for our SHO engines. I think he did that as the recall kit is much cheaper and the TPS is compatible.

There really isn't THAT much difference in the TPS sensor used by any EEC-IV engine. Unless the Ford engineers had a very specific reason for doing so, my guess is that they were expected to use common parts across product lines to simply logistics.
