I have recently lucked in to a rod shift system out of a 92 SHO. I was wondering how exactly it would mount up. I know that I have to cut a hole in the floor for the shifter, but I only see 2 bolt holes to mount the thing down and they are in the rear of system. I have read somewhere either on here or somewhere else about a plate that has a hole cut out for the shift tower basically and, all thread tacked on the bottom to screw the system through?? Maybe this is just for certain applications?? I dont know any help would be great thanks!

I don't think those plates alone are usually very easy to find. There has been a few posts about broken shifters in the recent past, maybe someone here will have that part to sell if they weren't able to or didn't repair their shifter.

I would keep the cable shifter, as you can now get the parts to replace the broken ball socket ends from SHO source. Cable shifter is 15 lbs less weight, and there are no engine vibrations transmitted to the shifter (e.g. HD motor mounts) You can get a Maddog STS short cable shifter for $100 that bolts right in and has much shorter throws than the rod.

I have solid motor mounts and a rod shifter and there is no engine vibration in the shifter handle, cable shifters are sloppy.
