My 89 dash dimmer is shot,the old reastat (sp?) style will only turn the dash lights on when the interior lights click on. Is there a modern replacement or fix for this? Anybody got a good one? Thanx

The one from a Gen2 will fit with a bit of trimming. The plug is the same and it will work fine ( that's what I have in there now), just the top screw hole has to be trimmed a bit to fit in the dash. Other than that, it's plug & play.
BTW, my 89 switch still works- I swapped it because I didn't like how sloppy it felt.
