Real quandary, however I have always thought and all kidding aside you were chasing 9's and setting a record but I could be wrong. Based on your issues and the monies spent ... Paying the money and cracking open the super car title might be worth the wait? Just thinking out loud is all
I have a modded supercar and going fast is hard to be honest. I have a great platform with plenty of power, yet I am struggling to set a new personal record. Keep on keeping on Andrew.

I had 1 reply from HP support today. Quality. 1 reply/day.

Matt Robinson is out. All of a sudden he asked wait…is this a 10-12? I’m sorry I can’t tune this.

Ok.

That's strange about GH.

From what I recall, he was tuning 10-12's previously.

Very strange.

Exactly. He said he thought it would actually be easy. So is that why he offered? lol so is it too hard? Damn Brad just got elevated if you ask me…to Beast.

2010’s have held the EcoBoost platform record for over a decade. But hey….they’re so limited. Brad tuned a 13 and 10 to the top. Talk about skills man. He really is the GOAT then

I’ll say it, Robinson made a choice not to wrestle with the limitations rather than a hard limit, he COULD tune it but can’t prove it either. It’s an oxymoron though to label 10-12’s as limited. They have less controls then 13+ but not limited potential.

Limited isn’t about control. It’s about the tuners understanding. One person sees fewer controls and says, “Can’t be tuned.”

The right person(Brad) sees the same thing and says, “watch this.” And “Hold my beer.”

While waiting what seems like an eternity for HP support to find out about OS systems I decided to look myself. Fact: 2018 my system was GUB. Ok searching the internet HP Support for EcoBoost SHO’s surfaced in 2015. Ok so 10-12 had to be GUB. So unless HP updated their system to include GUC (for nobody bc I’m sure there has been no demand) it’s still GUB.

2018 I pulled this from my X4 awaiting my first tune.
ECU strategy code: DMJKB52.H32
SW Part ID: AU7A-14C204-GUB.

After the update for the transmission I saved my stock file to load Brads tune back. What happened? It changed it. Now the X4 reads
ECU Strategy code: DMJKBL5
SW Part ID: AU7A-14C204-GUC.

The tunes we used after that likely have gremlins designed for the revision old PCM GUB. Realistic next 30 days: Tune with Brad on SCT with the tunes based in GUC. Could be a breakthrough. HP will likely end up updating it. ETA unknown.

I think this is my daily limit for today from HP 1 reply/day. IMG 5981
Finding out if they can add it. Should be type TVU2. The history is the 2010. I’m at Ford’s latest revision. 78018637725 469B8D70 98C2 44EB BD66 45EA8CF8A30FRenderedImage

Man, you guys are so far ahead of my comprehension about this stuff, it's incredible. Technology is a wonderful thing, until you hit a certain point and you find the limitations built into it, so you have no choice but to try to find upgrades that nobody has thought of yet.

Twenty years ago, it was carbs with bigger jets, intakes, headers, exhaust, fuel additives, gear swaps. Now it's computer controlled and who can write better than stock software that won't destroy what you've spent thousands trying to build. I'm at the age where I'm just amazed and baffled at the same time lol.

Anyway, Andrew, I really hope someone can put the heartbeat into your beast.

Generally speaking, a calibration update does not make major changes. Many times they are for emission system updates but, usually something minor.

One example I can think of is an update to 2004 Crown Vic PI where the update was only to lower the maximum speed to protect the driveshaft.

Another was for the 2004 Mercury Marauder to prevent a false code related to fuel level.

Neither of these made changes to the base engine map.

Refresh my memory. A year ago we were talking about calibration BB4A-14D584-AC. Is that what got you to GUC or is that for GUB?

It’s for GUC. And Ice figured it out. GUC is reflects its transmission up to date. More or less. My strategy is supported. Now I’m back to trouble shooting the stock read file.

AU7A-14C204-GUB (early 2010)

Softer shift scheduling (lazy 2–3, 3–4).
Lower line pressure → softer shifts, more wear.
Later TCC lockup, more slip at cruise.
Heavier torque management (longer spark retard).
Common flare / valve body complaints.

AU7A-14C204-GUC (update / TSB fix)

Firmer, quicker shifts (raised line pressure).
Revised scheduling (downshifts sooner, 5–6 more responsive).
Earlier, steadier TCC lockup (less slip, cooler temps).
Reduced torque management (shorter spark retard).
Required with updated valve body hardware.
