Speaking from my own experience(s), and given all the extra venting you've got going on in that hood, and fenders (way more than even I have installed) you may want to STRONGLY CONSIDER installing some hood pins on that beast.

Would hate to see you losing that hood down the track, or e-way, etc.

Particularly at the speeds you'll be achieving.

Looking impressive.

Today was the day I popped my cherry cutting the metal fenders. I got the passenger side cut up. 89197B25 A299 424A A62C 7C8A65B80BC17C6984D9 4A58 412C B4D5 F28671CE40BA0C330894 A5A3 41B3 BD8B CB6C02D08DCDEFCAE20A 97D5 4CFD B667 6CE7C89603AE12194312 789E 4FAF 89FE 2D91E0A7118984971E17 E6C4 47DB A702 3FF2A8328198

The boys who came over and convinced me to buy larger radius flares didn’t know they also talked themselves out of the job, what do I need them for at this point? I’ll have them paint match them Tuxedo Black. Need to make some fine trimming and then it’s rivnut time and black spike hardware lol! The rear door opens free and clear no need to modify the flare. And of course the cut areas will need some rust protection.

Is that trunk lid weight reduction?
Trunk lid is getting close to being done in all CF. Two layers. Bolt up like stock. For me it’ll cost about twice as much if someone else wants one when they’re done. I had no choice but to pay for molds. So mine will be around 4K all said and done. But then I own the molds….although instead I’ll just get a tiny slice of the purchase price for each additional one(s) made instead.

I believe Ben is coming later today to start the exhaust. Today or tomorrow I should have the couplers I need to finish the front mount intakes. While waiting I decided to mount my Derale hi flow race oil cooler for the trans fluid. Just bought some aluminum angle from Lowes. No exhaust work yet, more intercooler work was done. Ben welded a straight piece on the tube to the throttle body, shortened the IC outlet section and bead rolled them. Then the intake couplers finally arrived. Ben made support brackets for the intake piping. He cut a scrap piece of 3” into halves and slotted them to make a custom pipe collar, so that they will be attached by running a clamp through the slots, so they are removable. And he used 2 more collars for the crash bar, welded chromoly to the crash bar collar to the pipe collar. What are the odds the filters fit exactly between the 3 IC mounting collars? CCDD9B4F 0541 424D 8386 69633CC6DE8A
Pretty sure we’re going to add 2” straight pipe to the intake pipe, raising them 2” higher but mocked up….this thing looks mean 09FBAA0B 0B6D 4B42 BFAC 688A95938BB1 This project is taking on a life of its own, like artificial intelligence lol!
