70mph @ 2800rpm?

I have a 95 sho 3.2 atx with 145k miles. Is 70mph @ 2800rpm normal? seems alittle high to me.

I still get 29-30MPG highway running 80mph at almost 3K

The RPM seems high? doesn't to me considering the engine.... MTX runs at like 3200prm at 75mph I think.

Thanks for the reply's! Feels weird im use to 75mph @ 2500rpm or less. I will get use to it.

A factory Gen 2 ATX should run around 2300rpms @ 70mph with the converter locked, or up to 2700rpm with it unlocked. If you're seeing around 2800rpms @ 70mph with your ATX, then your converter may not be locking.

Have you noticed any converter lock or slippage at any point in third or fourth gears?

Id be lucky to get 18MPG out of the stang. When it was stock with 273's it would turn 2K at 80MPH in 5th, and get around 24MPG. The 355's killed it, plus the mods. O well, at least when i tromp on it she goes like ****!!!

Roy has one of them 4 popper mustangs...thats why he gets such good gas mileage.
