I have my engine mostly taken apart, and have a few questions: The Helms manual says I need a special tool to disconnect the fuel lines. I assume you guys know an easier way to do it...
Second, on the heater pipe that runs behind the block their is another sensor besides the ECT, I cannot find what it is, and I don't know if i should replace it.
Thanx, Doug

The fuel lines use the same type quick disconnect fittings as does the AC system. A set of plastic tools for them is available at Sears Hardware stores or AutoZone for under $10.

The sensor on the heater hose line is there to cut off the blower on automatic climate systems until the coolant in the lines warms up. Without it, the ETAC can cause the blower to run full speed even while the coolant is cold (can you say wind chill?)

Merry Christmas..

Why are you disconnecting the fuel lines for the 60K? The rear valve cover can be removed without separating the fuel lines. There is no part of the upper end 60K that requires this to be done. To remove the rear valve cover, all you have to do is remove the two 10 mm bolts from the mounting bracket on the rear valve cover and gently tie-wrap the lines out of the way.
