Does anyone know which airbag sensor that a six flash sequence is pointing to? It only flashes about 10 percent of the time I am driving.

Second question. Just prior to buying the car, someone power washed the motor. Since then, the battery light has been illuminated. I've checked the charging with my VOM and all is OK. So, no real problems, but the light is annoying the crap out of me. The only thing out of now is the DIS module is cracked, but that shouldn't cause this light. I thought that maybe a little excess water was sitting on a connector, but has been on for about a month and a half and several thousand miles. What should I check?

Well about the air bag light flashing, I thought that has meant that the air bag system fuse has gone. BUT I thought that it only blows when the air bag goes off. I know in my car that is the situation. Also mine blinks constantly. Maybe check on www.shotimes.com Under care and feeding they have a section about the airbag. Since I don't know what year your car is. About the battery light, is it on all the time? Or does it come on when your driving? Let me know. Don't you just love our cars!!! shoot

No the blinking is an idication of a fault in the SRS. The flashes indicate a code just as in the EEC-IV codes. Six flashes however is not a code so you may be interpreting the flashes incorrectly. Codes are 12,13,14,21,22,23,24,32,33,34,35,41,42,44,45,51,52,and 53. There are some other indications such as steady indicator, No indicator, and continues rapid flashing indicator.

What year/gen is your SHO could be different if not a GEN 2.

Naval tapped you Air bag light.....as far as your battery light. The sensor is right on the alternator itself. Small connector with one wire going to it.
This is from the voltage regulater. Either the connection is bad or that circuit of the voltage regulater is bad and the alternator will need replacing to fix this issue. If its still charging then that choise is your for replacement.

I believe for Gen 1's the airbag light is single digits. Just as the eec is double for gen1 and triple digits for gen2.

Is it the 90 or the 93? FYI I sent you an email that should help.

Thanks for the help every one. The problem is on my 90. The battery light is always on when the ignition is on.

And yes, I do love our cars for two reasons. First, I love the motor with all my heart. Second, I love a challenge. But truth be told, I don't like Fords, and if you took my Yamaha away I'd go running back to Chevy!

The 6 lights re: the airbag will be caused by the slip ring under the steering wheel. Take the wheel off, and carefully disassemble the plugs etc. there. I just went through this procedure; it turned out my slip ring was defective and I had to get one from someone here parting their '91 out. End of problem.

thanks Mike- I started to state that that was the common SRS failure but since I wasn't sure if maybe the code was just misinterpreted.

Call on Friday and check with my wife to see if I got stuck on the carrier if not let me know details on when you want to do your 60K.

The battery light should be attended to first I would think. I thought I read that the sensor light will flash if there is insufficient power to the system.

The battery light will light with the key on and will also light(constant) (Although it will flash if its on the threshold) below a certain voltage from the alternator. I'm not sure what the voltage is but its not enough to charge the battery. AS I stated above its from a seperate circuit of the Vreg on the alternator.

Are you the same Scott that used to live in the mid-cities? If so, I met you before. I came out to your apartment shortly after I got my first 93.
