i have stock springs on my 1993 SHO atx and i was thinking today about some spring spacers i saw at discount auto parts. after a while i decided to go and look at the spacers. they are solid metal. i asked the lady what they did and she asked the manager and he said they raise the rear end of the car and make the srings stiffer so got them for $4. at home i jacked the car up and put them on but there is this rubber hosing around the middle of the stock springs so i just cut a little of it off then put the spacers in. after i did it once it took about 5 minutes to get the other side on. i only did the rear springs b/c i just didnt like all the weight transfer to the rear of the car i got when it downshifted. when i drove around i could feel a difference. pickup seemed a bit quicker and it seemed to tilt back less while accelerating hard. is this just my imagination or did they really help. the idea seems to suggest it would work. they are only on there till i get my Intraxes but until then $4 seems a good price to pay for better acceleration. also the steering seemed a bit less sensitive so should i put them on the front too or just leave them in the rear. BTW, i dont autocross so i am fine with a bit of understeer. i doesnt really bother me.

That's aa good mod if you don't mind breaking $h!t. That puts a lot of stress on the spring, control arms, strut mounts, and every other suspension component on the car. It might be OK at the Drag strip once in a while but no way I would recomend driving around town like that.
