So it was +8 Celsius last week thursday when I received the Livernois tune from Rick. I've been having fun driving around with the tune thinking that winter has finally come to an end here in Edmonton. Then on Saturday the weather started to change and get colder again. :frown:
So this morning I wake up and it's -32 Celsius and stupid me, I forgot to plug in the SHO last night. It won't start..... Now I'm just sitting here waiting for Ford roadside assistance to come give me a boost. The weather doesn't bother me as much as the fact that now I can't have as much fun with the tune now that the roads are back to being pure ice and your breath freezes before it even gets out of your mouth. Sometimes I don't love being in Canada :frown:

Ha! I was through Edmonton and up in Rainbow Lake, AB last week and they were raving about the heat wave they were having, it hovered around 0 Celsius during the day. I left on Friday, sounds like I got out just in time.

I heard -39 on the radio today, but that was with windchill. My car wouldn't start either, but I've got one of those portable booster packs I keep in the car just for such an occasion. I never plug my car in either, it's not the engine that goes first, it's the battery freezing that's the problem. I guess what I really need is a battery blanket instead.

The best part was getting to work, and realizing the heater at work had broken, so we had no heat in the shop either until noon.

That's quite a swing in temp for you guys out west.......not nice at all and bad for one's health.

Not surprised about the car. anything would have a hard time starting in that weather.
I've found a timer is best if I'm plugging in, set for about 3-4 hours.
Good luck and here's hoping for an early spring.

What's with new cars not wanting to start when it's cold out. Back in 2002 I spent the winter out in Edmonton and left my car (V8 SHO) back home. When it dipped into the -30's back home my roomates' cars wouldn't start but my did and one of my roomates borrowed it to go to work.

My wifes '03 Altima doesn't like -20 nor does my '00 Civic.

None of our themometers in Arizona have any markings below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, don't ever need them.

was -33 in Dawson today too. Days like today make me almost regret my career choice. However my battery is fairly new and the SHO started flawlessly (ok maybe was a little slow cranking). Just need to fix my stupid heater issue.. I get cold outside air blasting in through the SHO emblem on the passenger side of the dash, and also through the hole on the side of the blower speed control module. The only setting that stops the cold air from coming in, is "MAX AC" with the temperature dialed up. I have no clue where to start looking.

You guys need to move to the west coast. It's a mind chilling + 4 this evening here on the island. Brrrrr......:sun:

I'd love to move to the West Coast! It's the California of Canada :sun:

The only problem is I'd have to give up all of the "oil-money" in Alberta and I'm not prepared to do that yet. Maybe Victoria for retirement like every other Albertan does :)
