30K mile service

Just had my 2010 in for 30k mile service. Does anybody know what the fuel system service involves? At about $190.00, I would hope it's more than pouring a pint or two of cleaner in the gas tank!!

I'm afraid that's all there is to it (plus perhaps a filter change).

I may be mistaken here, but to my knowledge there is "no" fuel system service on the SHO. I tried to have mine serviced at the 30k point also, and was told there is nothing external of the tank to be serviced. It seems that the pump and filter are all housed within the tank. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

Fuel system service, they are supposed to hook up a machine and flush out the system, it cleans yout upper and lower intake manifolds, throttlebody, and injectors. I could be wrong.

A tank that is pressurized by shop air, filled with some highly concentrated fuel system cleaner is hooked up to the fuel pressure port in your engine bay. I think it's much less needed with direct injection, but will still clean your injectors.

Seems that is a question that should have been asked before agreeing to the 30K mile service.

But it may be very helpful in cleaning the intake and valves. It probably does nothing for the actual injectors.

With direct injection, it wouldn't go through the intake at all, and would probably spray the top of the piston more than the valves....

I'm due for the 30,000 mile service and the dealer wants $429! OMG!

After looking at the service manual, a bunch of the services they perform with the 30,000 mile service are unneeded such as the coolant and transmission fluid flush, and the fuel filter. So they are basically doing the 15K service for triple the price.
