Three electrical-type questions on my '89 SHO, which I bought for $124.58 on eBay and surprisingly has no other real electrical issues to my knowledge (save for the non-operating temperature gauge which I'm fairly certain is just the gauge sender and a common problem)

One: My rear windows do not work, regardless of the position of the window lock button. Is there a fuse or something? Front windows and moonroof work perfectly.

Two: Dash lights work but are extremely dim, even with the dimmer switch set to maximum. Burned-out bulbs? Is it possible to replace bulbs with brighter LED's?

Three: The door ajar/key alert/lights on warning chime is so quiet it's virtually inaudible. I found the unit under the dash but couldn't feel any sort of volume control; is this just something I can replace off the parts car or is it a grounding issue or something?

Is it the main window controls that wont roll down the rear windows or both those and the rear window controls them self? Could be a short or wire issue.

Dash lights being dim, could be sign of alternator trouble mine did that and not long after my alternator went out.You could check the dash lights though, and the dimmer switch.

My warning chime has never worked but I dont mind it, I dont like hearing that ding ding ding anyways. They can be replaced though.

The windows could be several things, bad switches, broking wiring, or dead motors. Btw, the rear motors are incredibly easy to replace, as are the switches, it's the front window motors that are a bitch to change.

Could be burned out bulbs or an alternator. also, imo the 89's seemed dim comapred to newer year tauruses.

And last, my chime box is barely audible too, probably a bad box. I just left mine like that, those chimes annoy the **** out of me.

the windows im betting is the main drivers side switch is bad, when i swapped my black interior i had the same problem. i swapped with the old main window switch and was good as new.

i doubt its the alt my guess is that dimmer switch if you pull it out probley has either bad or dirty contacts, replace it and see if it fixes the problems.

the door ajar is a common problem for the door open switches, replace it and also make sure the ground is clean that it bolts down with and you golden
