All the aftermarket tuners seem to have their own 3 bar sensor upgrade and sell them for roughly $75. If I'm not mistaken, these ecoboost engines have a two bar sensor and then a 3 bar sensor elsewhere in the engine. Would putting in a ford 3 bar sensor that I can get for less than $50 not accomplish the same feat as the aftermarket brands? Currently going through a drive cycle with the stock tune back on to go through emissions next week. Would like to add that 3 bar sensor to the tune when I flash it again.

The 3bar is a Ford part and everyone sells the same one. You don't need to get it from your tuner but personally I would support one of the few who chose to support the SHO. On the SHO the MAP before the throttle is the same 3bar, the one on top of the intake manifold under the cover is the 2bar that people change with the accompanying tune..

I completely agree with supporting the few who do put time and thought into the SHO. However, there are few things I can source locally and even fewer I happen to be able to get good discounts on through work. I'll save money where I can to support these tuners later on the big upgrades and additions.

Stick with the Ford sensor, rarely will aftermarket improve over Ford quality. Sometimes the box will be branded aftermarket, but the part will actually be Ford. NAPA does that, so does Dorman, and I am sure a multitude of others. Not unlike telecom bundling services at "discount".

RockAuto sells them for somewhere around $40. I support the tuning companies by paying for their tunes.
