installed it last night took about 3 minutes, and 7 minutes to retune it. been snowing around here so cant tell how much of a difference it will make

The mod-bug bit me again and I'm new to tuning my SHO. I tuned the **** out of my 2010 Audi S4, but the SHO is new to me. I just bought an MDesign CAI, 3-bar MAP, Performance Thermostat, and deciding where to buy my tune, either Unleashed or Southern Speed. Anyway, what or how do you "re-tune," after installing your 3-bar MAP? What's the process? Thank you!!

Tell your tuner you have the 3-bar MAP (and which TStat) and they will account for it in the tune, simple as that. BTW, Unleashed & LME are by far the most experienced & reliable tuners for this platform. I would stick with one of them. Regardless, looking forward to developments :)

What about Shawn at Southern Speed - his F150's have made some incredible numbers! He says the same thing will happen with the new SHO tune....???

Wellllllll ... if you want performance AND longevity, Unleashed/LME will get you there. They don't ride the edge of the wave for a reason. Now if the SHO is your plaything and you are willing to give up longevity, then the field is wide open. Tuning the F150 and the SHO, 2 different challenges due to the significant differences in the engine/drivetrain.

I'm curious if the 3 bar sensor would need removed in the event of the car needing serviced. I ask because I typically will return the car to the stock tune prior to taking it in for service and I'm guessing once you do this the car will not run properly since it's looking for a 2 bar sensor.

Yes - I emailed Torrie about this and he said since the tune/program is written for a 3-bar. If you go back to stock you will need to re-install the 2-bar since the stock program will be looking for the 2-bar, etc. So this kind of sucks in a way bc I do NOT want to do this every time I go to the dealer! I hope, I REALLY hope my dealer is "mod-friendly!" My last car was a heavy modded 2010 Audi S4 and I had the coolest Audi SM who didn't care at all!

That's pretty much what I figured, thanks for the info. I don't have any real mods done except for a tune from Torrie so I might at least do this 3 bar upgrade since it seems to benefit even if there's just a tune.

And good luck with your dealer. I took mine to one where we've bought several cars from and they pitched a fit about the VTA mod. I called the service manager back and had a talk with her about it. At least she said that nothing gets sent into Ford which would actually void my warranty. As long as the car is as it should be next time I need to take it in nothing will be said. I might try stopping down at the much smaller Ford dealer closer to me and talk to the service guy there and get a feel for his view on the matter.

Thanks again.
