Yes they are different

I don't belive you can switch them IIRC.

Yes you can switch them. I have a 3.0 on my 3.2. The 3.2 ones are shorter and easier to remove, I barely got the 3.0 one on my 3.2 without removing the intake. BTW dont clean the 3.2 one with brake cleaner... thats why I had to get the 3.0 one

You can swap them all day long.

SHONUT once told me the 3.2 one had a better and or faster response for a better idle.
