new oil might help if not then the synchros or synchronazing mash or shifting mechanism is damaged inside trany.

Pakisho, I don't mean really high speeds. and for first i just mean from a stop in can be difficult to get in gear. And for higher speeds i mean higher speeds for 1st gear, like 30-40 mph. If its at around 20mph its not so difficlult to get in gear.

you shift into 1st going 40? man, i think my tranny would get up out of the car and kick my ass if i did that. if you mean second, though, then you have a prob. dunno what it is.

ohio is for hustlers
You have synchros, that is your problem. Of course it will be hard to get into gear going almost 40mph in second. Bring the revs up to about 4000, THEN put it in gear. That should make things a lot smoother. Mine is even a little difficult to get into second going 30. That isn't something you want to be doing though, that's why the synchros are there in the first place (sorta...).
