with the wheels on the ground the engine wont move
That's what I thought, but with the wheels in the air they weren't moving either. Anyway, I lowered it down so the wheels contacted, couldn't get the breaker bar in through the top, so I went from the bottom. Kept on cranking the bar, and it felt like the engine kept on turning. Still, I could actually hear the bolt off cutting into the bolt head, so I kept on going. After about a half hour of this, I stuck my fingers in there to see how much more I had to go. It had made contact, the bolt off was all the way on. So, I positioned everything, went in, and cranked the engine. 'ting,' I hear the bar fall to the ground. Went over to have a look, and the bolt head was just shredded :(
I'm definately not one to give up, but this is pushing me towards the line. I think I'll just give my buddy's dad a call tomorrow (Ford mechanic, problem-solving guru), and have him take a look at it. I have little doubt he'll be able to take care of it, but If he can't, good ol' Tom will be getting a ring (hope you're not busy tomorrow :) )
Thanks for all the help (especially SHOman), and I'm most definately open to other suggestions if anyone has any...
Oh yeah, checked my bank account, and not enough for a decent MIG welder :( But on a brighter note, my SS brake lines came in today, and their purdy. Unfortunately, the scheduled install for the 96 brakes will have to be pushed back to next weekend :( :(

Not too busy to help another poor SHO soul. Kinda of having a SHO fix it day here on Saturday anyway. I've got a MIG welder, big nuts (don't even think about it ) and some really, really big wrenches. Bring it on.

Sure it will. There is not a solid connection between the engine and the wheels. It's got a slip clutch in the middle. Depending on the clutchs' condition and which gear the tranny is in, you could turn the motor without moving the wheels.

I would suggest on using a 1/2" breaker bar instead of of a 1/2" ratchet when cranking the engine to remove the 19mm crank bolt. the ratchet should not be used to torque and untorque bolts in general, the ratchet will break, the breaker bar can withstand the torque, that's what its for. just my $0.02....

Prepping the Other Woman for a re-wire and the Turbo. Putting her into the new ToyBox to make sure she fits.

Also putting a new high flow stainless steel Magna flow exhaust system on the 99 diesel. And a new AirRaid intake system. If I get time, I'll be helping SHOaz with his battery cables.

Bring it out today only, all service is on sale.
