Physical performance parts are able to be installed, so you're good there. No matter the vendor you source/choose.
However, from what I am hearing as of late, is that the tuning is becoming more and more challenging, as all of the major auto mfg'ers, including FMC, are encrypting their ECM's with even more advanced security layers, etc. Making even the most advanced of aftermarket tuners out there, unable to crack same.
Will be real interesting seeing how the tuning world may be, say..... 5yrs (or less) from now.
From what I am hearing, it sounds like any attempts at future tuning from 2017 model years and beyond, will likely involve having to purchase an entirely separate ECM and install that POST OEM ECM, and then tune from there.
Which if that does pan out as I suspect, will only serve to increase cost(s) significantly to all of us individual owner(s) / end user(s).
I would check with w/e vendor you may be thinking about using, and see what they suggest. Good luck.
