This was posted and shared on Facebook yesterday.

Hi folks, wanted to let you know that the convention in July will be happening this year. Recently I found out that there was a problem with the contract/Agreement with NCM. After last year's dramatic debacle I called everyone and bumped it to 2017, Everyone understood and agreed. So as far as I was concerned there was not much to do. A freind and I were talking and my date was not on the calendar, so he called and found out that our agreement was not upheld and the track was rented. Essentially Paula said "yes not a problem" and would seND a new contract, I never received it and just figured that our Email agreement was enough, it wasnt..

So needless to say I'm changing venues, I had a few polls run and moving it to a more densely SHO populated area. I have sent out emails requesting the dates and contracts the other day and will be working on it again Thursday or Friday this week and will let people know as soon as I have a signed contract in my hands..

I would like to appologize to the people that like to register early, I assumed everything was all set and come to find out it wasnt. Also would like to note the drama makers that are all ready starting this year, please just stop I don't need any more grief in planning a vacation for100ish people.

The dates will be July 16- July 21 2017. There also is a new website going up, I have a person doing the Convention Program (when I give him the info). And have someone that will be managing the 1/4 mile track day for me, sort of how Jeff W takes care of the road track for us. Thanks Jeff..

Please pass this around and direct any questions directly to me through PM, email, text or phone. 5089635899. [email protected]

Thanks,
Kirk Doucette.

I'm thinking not, that's where it was gonna end up being last year and the post says he's moving it to a more densely populated SHO area, so sounds like maybe at or near someplace it's been before or maybe St,Louis area. Or Zachs house. lol

This is just an opinion, and I have no dog in this fight, but I think it is odd that there has never been a convention in either New York or Pennsylvania. From what I have observed, there are more car enthusiasts in these states than anywhere else. Despite the car killing climate, there is a huge number of antique and special interest cars in this zone.

Like I said, just an opinion and just an observation. I was never so disappointed as I was when I went to California for a few weeks and did not see any old SHOs or much of anything else.....just lots of Kias and Hyundai.

I tried checking on SHOClub's website, to try and get any details/updates for 'ya, but it appears to have been shuttered and/or is defunct.

Not sure when that went down?

I was peripherally involved in helping with the New Hampshire convention (Chris and Kirk did all the heavy lifting) and early on we talked quite a bit about having that one out near Watkins Glen (southwest NY). I recall a deciding factor being the tight track availability and high cost per person. Lime Rock (north western CT) had the highest cost.

Contract deals aren't made yet? Considering SHO club has had almost two years to figure it out, that's not a good sign. I miss the Mallison family. They got shit done right.
