I put a deposit down on a black on black '16 SHO with the 401-A package with a local Ford dealer earlier this week that is supposed to be delivered on or around September 6. Leasing for 3 years, trading our deep impact blue '13 SHO with 52K. Read yesterday the recall thread regarding the fuel pump module issue on the 13-15 models-hope this has been corrected on the '16's. Salesman told me this will be by far the lowest production year for the 10-16 SHO design. Checking dealer inventories on line periodically, none seems to have a '16 for the most part-there's two in our state currently at Ford dealers. If anyone has any input/thoughts as to whether the '16 will be impacted by the recall, please give me a heads-up and thanks.

Enjoying it ourselves before it's too late, kids turning 30 it's time for ourselves. Still going to recheck the recall in a few weeks. As you know they always like to add to recalls, never take away

Our son just turned 38 a month ago, so I can relate to what you are saying. Anybody who has made plans for retirement needs to consider going ahead and doing them if they have the $$$ and time. You never know what hand you will be dealt when you reach retirement age.

Crossing my fingers the '16 will be exempt from recall...

This time Ford is making an attempt to be on top of things, so even if it does happen, the pain should be over quick. Recalls are a fact of life nowadays ... We are still in cue for the airbag recall :)

Sorry to hijack, but in case anyone wanted to know, I checked with my dealer and here was his response:

"It is still in advance notice status from Ford which means I have no parts or info yet on what to do. Ford will send a letter out to you and that is about the time I will have my info. "

Your 2016 will be exempt from this recall. The cut off build date was mid 2015. My 2015 PP was built in October 2015, I took delivery November 5th and mine is not involved.

Enjoy.

Congrats! Post up some pics when you get the 16.

How is the leasing of these cars? The value seems to plummet on these American made sedans in the first 2-3 years, so I would be scared to lease one of these... maybe Ford subsidizes the residual a little to help the customer out??

I wouldn't be so panicked about the recall... from what I've read, it has not affected a whole lot of owners...it's a proactive (I use this word pretty loosely) replacement...done for free by the dealership. So I would think it should be pretty much a non-issue for us.

Car arrived at dealership today, picking up tomorrow morning. Regarding lease option, at least right now, Ford offering more incentives vs purchasing. Residual after 3 years on this car set at $20K. Or I can hand them the keys and get something else. Plenty of time to decide, this is the last year for the 3.5L so I may buy it. Love these cars.

I agree, that's why I leased. If the car treats me well, I'll buy out in 3 years. Enjoy your new beast!

Have not been on this site since I leased a new '16 SHO (pictured) on September 1 as wife continues to have health issues that are escalating. Now have 2800 miles on it (retired, live very close to everything we need) and am very happy with it. Only 30 more payments to go before I have to decide whether to purchase it or get something else. I sure like the new Continental but way out of my price range. Knowing the SHO has the same base engine as the Ford GT makes it a neat conversation piece and somewhat rare. Plus I have read in multiple sources that this will be the last year for the SHO as we know it unless a GEN 5 is introduced; not sure that is going to happen. I can buy the car for $20K plus taxes (sticker in excess of $48K) and would imagine the book value will be in that range given I will have maybe 20K on the odometer but not likely even that many miles at lease end. The car has every available option and I just am not sure for the $$$ if I can find a better combination of luxury and performance in a car this size. Quite the beast. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a great 2017.

Congrats on the car!
...but our 3.5 ecoboost is nowhere near the same as the new GT's 3.5 ecoboost
