Okay so about a week ago I started feeling and hearing a rotational noise that seemed to coincide with the rotation of my tire on the right front. I notice it at low speeds and faster speeds and it follows the speed I am going with or without my foot on the gas. I do not feel it through the brake or the steering wheel. It almost sounds like something it stuck to the tire or the tire has a flat spot. the car has not sat for any length of time and there has not been any incidents which would lead me to believe something else caused injury somewhere. I have checked the tires and there is nothing that stands out as causing the noise. Could it be the wheel bearing? or some other part failure?

Based on the information I would say wheel bearing is high on the list. It's hard to tell exactly because in my mind a tire with a flat spot has a much different sound than a tire with something stuck in it. To me a flat spot is a thumping and something stuck in the tire is a clicking.

How bad is the sound? Just barely noticeable of highly noticeable? Have you taken off the tire and brakes and rotated the bearing to see if you can hear/feel anything? If you can feel grit, not smooth motion, play, or hear the bearing then it's definitely bad. However, if you cannot detect anything out of the normal that doesn't guarantee it's good.

I do agree that the flat spot and something stuck in the tire are 2 different sounds but all I could think of to describe the rotational noise.

I have not taken the tire and brakes off to spin the wheel bearing, due to the cold weather which is now ruining my chances of working on the car. As soon as I can I plan on getting it inside a garage to diagnose the problem further.

Wheel bearings can be difficult to diagnose at times. Most of the times they have a groaning/grinding/moaning noise. But the last one on my Jeep made a chirping noise like a bird. However, most of the time there's a noise with the rotation of a wheel it's the bearing. But also make sure you check for something stuck in the heat shield or some other place that could be scraping a piece of the wheel or disc.

In my experience, a noise that coincides with the rotation of the wheel is not a bearing issue - those tend to be at a different frequency because of the number of rotations it takes to get a ball or roller to the same spot on the race, but who knows? In my experience it is more likely a tire issue - bad belt, delamination, that sort of thing.

I would get it checked out sooner rather than later, you don't want a tire or bearing to fail on you at freeway speed.

I have the same issue with my 2010. my front driver tire is doing the same thing. I thought wheel bearing myself. changed it out. still does it. well took it to my buddies tire shop to get a nail removed and he said the inside tread of the tire was chopped. had bumpy spots all around. said it could be bad struts or alignment causing it.

Update: I took the car to a mechanic and he drive it then said he felt that the way it was presenting itself it appeared to be a bad tire. A week goes by before I could swap out my summer tires and rims for the winter ones. Get them on and it’s the same. Schedule service through a dealership and dropped it off last night. Called this morning at 10:30am to find that the car hasn’t been looked at yet. Got a call at 2:30pm that they think it’s a wheel bearing acting up. They got the part and now waiting for them to install and test drive the car.

Okay, sorry for the delay. I picked the car that night and because of the snow & ice couldn’t really check it out. The wheel bearing was covered under me extended EasyCare Warranty, all I had to do was pay my deductible of $100. And now that the roads are much better. I’M STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM! So, now I have to schedule service again.

Brakes were done in June and I looked at them when I switched over to the winter wheels and tires. They looked okay unless the rotor is warped. Dealership said it wasn't a safety issue so they weren't too concerned about it. I now have a tentative appointment back at the Dealership for January 4th. I did just have an alignment done on the car after the wheel bearing replacement. It improved the noise and vibration but it is still there. Next stop, the shop that did the brake job.

So, I dropped off and picked up my car on Thursday from the dealership and they replaced the other wheel bearing/hub. Now the noise is gone. For now...

I am having the same chirping coming around the front passanger side wheel and the noise is around or between 60 to 90 mph. I got the tires balanced and rotated nothing was wrong with my tires next step now I believe is the wheel bearing...:shame:

D941F7BE C85D 4434 A7A9 80F2CC999435 8626BDEE B3B7 4114 8D7A F0D8834EDF90 After replacing wheel hubs I have found out that the aftermarket wheels were shit. A tire or multiple, Goodyear Eagle Ice Grip 235/45R18 went bad. I changed from an aftermarket wheel to 18” Ford steel wheels for the snows and that helped but the vibration was still there. By now the tires had definitely gone bad. I believe the wheels were the problem. So now I have replaced the Goodyear’s with Blizzak DMV2’s for my New England winters.
