just like the post says... how bad is yours i know i need to get winter tires and rims on it, just not in the budget at the moment. But holy crap I'm coming from a 2006 f250 4x4 and i understand its not going to be that good but man are they that bad in the snow. Or is it all the tires?

it's all about the tires, if you have those oem goodyear rs-a like i had. the all weather/no weather tire makes the sho look bad.

I bought General G-MAX All Season tires and they're insane good in snow & ice! General is made by Continental so it's an excellent tire and the tread pattern is very aggressive looking! I've owned 3 Expeditions and an Audi with the legendary Quattro system and my 2014 SHO with these tires performs just as well!

ok im glad to hear that, i do have the goodyears on there now. So now i need to find the proper rim and tire combo to fit on the larger brakes the PP has.

My 2011 PP with the Eagle F1 Supercar tires sucked, yep. Even when I could get moving in the snow it wouldn't stop. So when I had a sidewall split from dry rot I installed General G-Max Ultra High Performance all season tires. Like the other poster mentions above, they are GREAT in snow and ice. Just put a set on my wife's MKT Ecoboost as well.

I HIGHLY recommend the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. They are Ultra High performance all-seasons and are kick ass in this Pennsylvania snow. Sticky on dry roads too. They are also rated for 168mph which is very handy ;)

Wait, what? "My 2011 PP with the Eagle F1 Supercar tires sucked, yep."????!!! So, a SUMMER ONLY tire sucks in cold and snowy weather...HELLO! These are weren't designed for that! Again, they are a SUMMER TIRE! If you live in the snow belt or temps are regularly below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, consider an all-season or a dedicated winter tire.

I never said I expected the summer only tires to be good in the snow. My SHO is not my primary winter vehicle and I did not buy it with that intent. I've always had an SUV for winter and towing duty. But above someone said, "...if you have those oem goodyear rs-a like i had" so I was responding to that regarding the tires on the PP. But when the inside sidewalls of the Eagles cracked ans split after only 13k miles, I opted to replace them with an all season and am glad I did. I am pretty sure my SHO with the all seasons gets around better in the snow than my current SUV.

the goodyear tires really say they are all weather, but are just junk. had them on my sho replaced with conti dws which i like a lot, but as someone says the general gmax are made by conti are a good tire as well. was my 2nd choice. also have the goodyears on my '09 chally that just got & they are junk on it only worst. am replacing with on it with one of the 2 when get some $$$.

QFT. They are not snow tires and as such are not as good at braking or cornering as snow tires would be, but for an UHP all-season these are very good. I have them on my 2011, no worries about getting started in the snow, I just go a little bit easier than I would with dedicated snows.

My PP is a tank in the snow with winter tires. It sucks with the Goodyear SuperCars. Lol

Same here. at the first snow I felt uneasy with the Goodyear F1's. I had a lot of past experience with the Blizzak ice compound tires and went for broke. My driveway is a steep incline and on a solid sheet of ice I could take off up hill from a dead stop with zero spin. In the snow I find the harder I drive it, the better it goes, stops and turns. Probably causing an overconfidence to the point of recklessness but I love pulling against a 4wd truck in the snow. I actually use S on occasions.

Its all about the tires...

My 2011 P/P SHO is a tank in the snow. I'm currently running Pirelli Cinturato p7 and my car is doing incredible with snow/ice.

My area (northwestern Pa) is well known for snow...and lots of it. This year is no different, but we have been hit with a lot of ice when compared to other years.

Even my non-PP with the Michelin Primacy tires are dangerous in the snow. Granted they are down to 4/32 tread, I need to change them ASAP. I used to run Blizzaks as a winter tire for my A4 Quattro and there isn't a better tire out there for snow/ice.

Also, remember that your tires are the only thing keeping your car on the road. Don't skimp on cost in this area, a few hundred bucks can make a world of difference.

General G Max all the way IMO. I have them on and my SHO PP is great in snow and ice hands down. I do a ton of driving and not once even had a slip or stuck at anytime in some major snow falls we have been getting this season.
I have the rotated every oil change and wear is actually not bad as well.
