Okay I have a 2013 pp that under hard acceleration it pulls itself out of gear. I know that the 2012s had this problem and there was a recall for it. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what the fix is?

Does it just fail to shift, or does it actually drop into neutral?

If it bangs off of the limiter in between shifting that is a multi-faceted issue. Part of what could be wrong is that your trans fluid is cavitating. Try draining, cleaning and refilling your fluid. You can also refill A PINT heavy. This can aid in fighting off the bubbling of hot less viscus ATF. Lowering shift pressures can also help the ABS module work with your TCM to allow for better shifting logic.

No it actually comes completely out of gear. After I let off the throttle you can feel it shift back into gear

Are you referring to this TSB
TSB 10-9-9 6F506F55 TRANSMISSION - DTC P0751 - HARSH OR NO FORWARD ENGAGEMENTS - PERCEIVED SLIP ON ACCELERATION - SLIP/DELAYED AND/OR HARSH DOWNSHIFTS

I believe so. But besides it coming out of gear it never downshifts out of the normal. I get real bad wheel hop and then you hear a pop and when I let off you'll feel it shift back into gear. Any wot pull 20 and under. Not all the time but it has worsened and is doing it more often. I just got the car out 2 weeks ago since late December and it has been doing it more and more.

No i have not. I was told after I bought the car the only recall was for the door handles. I'm definitely gonna have to get it checked out. Thing is would I have to have it returned to stock for them the fix it for free if this is the issue?

Any time you take it to the dealer, it is best to return to stock tune, including 2 bar MAP if you have upgraded to 3 bar. Some people have a close enough relationship with their dealer they don't bother, but that would be a minority.

Is the pop coming from the engine compartment you think? Are you monitoring how much boost is happening at event time? Wonder if it's a wastegate or a hose related issue.

What's the worse the dealer will do? Not really feeling taking out my meth system just to bring it in to them. But no i have not been monitoring boost. It only happens if I have bad wheel hop so that never popped into my mind. If it's nice and sticky it won't do it and it'll be just fine. But when wheel hop is bad it does it. If I start off in second at about 20-25 it's fine but if I start in first it's over.

The dealer could update the PCM calibration (latest stock tune), which of course would be for a 2 bar, which they would discover problems with if you still had the 3 bar in place, which could lead to a notation of aftermarket tune in the OASIS system, which could lead to a case of warranty denial in case of major engine/trans issues. Whether you have warranty or are OOP, best to let sleeping dogs lie.

No warranty left. I was just wondering if they would still turn me away. I plan on telling them that it's tuned and what not so they don't touch the pcm.

You can try it, it's really up to you, every situation is unique. The dealer won't turn you away, the question will be who pays for the work. If the tune is held responsible, it will be all OOP for you (maybe even for recalls but don't know), unless you can make a case otherwise. But if you can be upfront, that is the preferred approach.

My car does this too - very annoying!!! It's most prevalent if I'm turning or slightly steering (changing lanes) under WOT. I'm going to the dealer on Monday (flashing back to stock tune) because I have a check engine light on. I'm going to have them check this also along with my PTU.

Good to know! Did you fill a PINT heavy, or just drain & fill with fresh fluid to the FULL mark?
