Hello Rubydist,not at all, in my opinion. lots of dealers do not report to that database simply because it is too easy to mis-type the miles, and then the CarFax is screwed up and its a pain to fix.
you don't need a paint meter - all you need is one of those cheap refrigerator magnets that all the realtors/insurance agents/pizza places send you. they have enough strength to stick through paint, but not enough to stick if there is any bondo there.
the miles may or may not be a problem. of all the EcoBoost vehicles we have seen at work, only one needed turbos replaced at around 100k. it appeared to be due to lack of oil changes and/or poor quality oil being used. that is the only turbo issue of which I am aware.
Can you hear if there is a turbo problem or is it an oil consumption problem?
