2011 PP SHO heating issues

2011 SHO PP. wifes DD. says that while driving the vent blowing toward the drive/passenger (middle setting) will all of the sudden blow cold air, but if she switches it to the defrost/floor setting it will go back to hotter air. Says this will intermittently do this. Anyone else ever have an issue like this or deal with this? Checked coolant level in overflow. seemed to be normal level. obviously thats only the overflow so that may not mean a thing. Wanted to see if anyone had any ideas before it goes to the dealer and we have to use our aftermarket bumper to bumper warranty.
